Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a UK or EEA resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data held by BarkHQ. We take these rights seriously and will always respond promptly to any request.
1. Right to Access
You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, including your account information and your dog's health records. We will provide this in a clear, readable format within 30 days.
2. Right to Correct
If any personal data we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to have it corrected. You can update most information directly within the app, or contact us to make corrections on your behalf.
3. Right to Erasure (Right to Be Forgotten)
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. Upon request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data — including dog profiles, health records, and reminders — within 30 days. This action is irreversible.
4. Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV) so you can transfer it to another service. Email us to request a full data export at any time.
5. Right to Restrict Processing
You may request that we limit how we use your data while a dispute is being resolved or while you are considering whether to delete your account.
6. Right to Object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. We will stop processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue.
7. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the above rights, email us at hello@barkhq.app with your request. We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and respond in full within 30 days.
8. Supervisory Authority
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data or your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority: the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
